I’m an Alraune, a plant monster girl.
And the sunlight is so warm and gentle. Sunbathing like this feels really nice.
The area around me was turned into bare land by the light magic of that Heavenly Stalker.
Because of that, the view has opened up too.
Now I can even see the tall tower, the symbol of Tower City, from where I am.
Since the town sits on higher ground, gazing at that tower from the forest has become one of my little ways to pass the time.
And from that same Tower City, adventurers have come again.
“So this is the monster? It’s just a cute little Alraune.”
“Those two yesterday must’ve been newbies. That’s why they freaked out.”
This pair of adventurers were different from the ones yesterday.
For now, I need to let them know that I’m a peaceful monster who doesn’t like fighting.
“Humans… please… listen to what I have… to say.”
“It understands speech even though it’s a plant.”
“A unique monster, huh? Killing it would make a great story.”
Th-That’s awful…
They’re going to kill me to have something to brag about to other adventurers…?
Just because I’m a monster… that’s way too cruel.
I think I might start crying.
Unaware of my feelings, one of the adventurers fired an arrow from his bow.
At the same time, the other charged straight at me, spear in hand.
Really now, you shouldn’t be pointing such dangerous things at a lady.
“Take this!”
I caught the flying arrow with a vine.
While I was at it, I sent another vine up from the ground and forcibly snatched the spear away.
“W-what is this Alraune!?”
“It’s ridiculously strong!”
It’s not that I’m strong. You’re just weak.
From the man-eaters blooming along my vines, I released sleeping powder, forcing the two to inhale it.
The noisy gentlemen fell silent.
Now then, what should I do with these humans?
I don’t plan on eating them, and there’s no point in leaving them here.
Alright, let’s just dump them outside the forest.
I clapped my hands.
At once, the Treant that had been standing behind me like a withered tree dashed forward to my side.
“Take these humans… outside the forest.”
Understanding my intent, my little junior hoisted the two humans over her shoulders and ran off towards the edge of the forest.
Ah. I forgot to return their bow and spear.
And not just their weapons, they dropped their bags too.
──Wait, huh?
Inside that adventurer’s bag… it’s one of the little witch’s wooden tubes!
Eh, does that mean they were customers who bought nectar!?
It really is a small world.
Well, I guess I’ll just leave their weapons and bags here for now.
“See? I told you humans would come again.”
“Kiri… you’re right.”
The fairy, who had been hiding behind me, fluttered gently up into the air.
She had stayed with me, worried I might be attacked again.
“Maybe that fight with the Heavenly King the other day was seen by humans.”
“So… they came… to investigate me?”
“Humans tend to fear anything that isn’t human. If it lives in the forest, it’s all just prey to them. And speak of the devil…”
Kiri pointed into the woods.
Sure enough, a group of three adventurers appeared.
This is getting exhausting.
Let’s try talking things out first and see if we can settle this calmly.
“Please… listen. I’m not… a bad Alraune.”
“So you’re trying to lower our guard and then eat us like those bird monsters, aren’t you, you freak of a flower?”
“Freak? She’s more like a beauty. I might just fall for her.”
“You two, don’t let your guard down during a hunt.”
Ugh… they didn’t believe me again.
Just because I’m a monster, they assume I’m evil. Humans can be so cruel.
I used to be human too, you know. Why can’t they be a little kinder to plant monsters?
And compared to the last two groups, this party feels a bit stronger.
There’s even a mage among them.
But they’re still no match for me.
“M-My sword doesn’t work!?”
“She’s such a terrifying beauty, I think I’m gonna die…”
“Impossible! Even my wind blades aren’t getting through!?”
After all that commotion, I had the adventurers get a good night’s sleep.
They must have been tired from their little excursion into the forest, because they fell asleep right away.
Once the Treant returned from dumping the previous adventurers outside, I had her carry these ones out too.
Ah… I forgot to send their weapons and belongings with them again.
What am I going to do?
My pile of lost items is starting to grow.
In the end, two more groups of adventurers showed up that day.
I put them all to sleep and had them carried outside the forest.
No one was seriously hurt, so I don’t think they’ll hold a grudge against me.
They might be bothered that their weapons and gear are still lying around in the forest, but compared to their lives, that’s a small price to pay.
Speaking of, what should I do with all this stuff?
I hope someone comes to take it off me someday.
As I worried about what to do with the adventurers’ belongings, the little witch ran up and clung to me, looking anxious.
She must’ve been worried that I got attacked by humans.
“Alraune, are you okay?”
“I’m fine. More importantly… how much did you sell… today?”
“You won’t believe it—it was amazing! Ten people bought nectar!”
“That’s wonderful. Good job… good job.”
“It’s all thanks to you. Everyone who tried a sample ended up buying some. The moment they tasted it, their eyes lit up, and they pulled out their money.”
Mm-hmm… I’m so glad her smile is back.
This calls for a reward. Let’s give her some nectar.
I clamped my vine in between my mouth and prepared a nectar vine.
Saying “open wide,” I dripped it onto the little witch’s lips.
“It’s so thick and sweet… it feels like my mouth is melting.”
“Do you want mor—mgh!?”
“I’ll get more myself, so it’s fine.”
The little witch stuck her finger inside me, forcefully stirring up the nectar.
The sensation of someone else invading inside me made me realize once again that I’ve become her houseplant.
Thinking that, I felt embarrassed, and more nectar spilled out.
The little witch scooped up the nectar that had flowed out from my lips with her finger, then licked it clean.
“Alraune, you taste really good.”
“Mm……”
“Can I have more?”
“Sure………”
Her finger slid deeper inside me.
But it’s no fun just letting her do whatever she wants.
I wrapped my vines around the little witch and pulled her into a tight embrace.
From the outside, it probably looks like a plant monster binding a girl with its vines.
But this is just how I show affection. We’re just playing around.
I’m not some kind of tentacle monster, okay!
Maybe it felt nice to be wrapped up like this, because I soon heard the little witch’s soft breathing.
Seems like she was tired.
Good work selling nectar today.
Then I noticed something in the bucket she brought back.
Onions.
I wonder if she bought them with the money from selling nectar.
Alright, big sis is going to cook something with these!
For her sake, I’ve got to do my best.
Chomp.
Now I can produce onions too.
I’ll whip up lots of food for the little witch.
As her older sister, it’s my job to take care of her diet!
I’m needed by the little witch.
That alone makes me happy.
And that’s why I can’t just let myself be hunted down by adventurers.
No matter how many of them come, especially ones this weak, they’re no match for me.
To me, dealing with adventurers is like swatting tiny flying insects.
They can attack how many times they want, but my peaceful life won’t be shaken.
I won’t let anyone interfere with the life I share with the little witch!
